Hey everyone! I’m a little uncertain about the Deep Summer and Dark Summer palettes—both supposedly match my skin tone, but when I pull out clothes marked for each, I get contradictory impressions about whether the colors really suit me or just look off. I have a deep teal sweater labeled Deep Summer and a dark navy piece tagged Dark Summer. They feel close in tone, yet sometimes one makes my skin look vibrant while the other washes me out. Is it just me overthinking this, or are the palette boundaries really that blurry?
I’ve been trying to arrange my clothing so I’m not mixing these colors haphazardly, but most online explanations use very fuzzy terminology like muted, cool, or deep without clear side-by-side comparisons. The color ranges overlap a lot, and I wonder if a color is distinctly tied to one palette or just falls in the same zone.
To clear this up, I found a visual comparison gallery showing key colors for both palettes side by side undertone test . It helped a bit, but I’m still unclear on where the cutoff is. Are the purples clearly different, or do I rely on how a color appears in natural light? Do people find Deep Summer gravitates toward gentler cool tones while Dark Summer is more intense?
If anyone has tried both seasonal palettes or examples where a color worked for one but clashed with the other, I’d be glad to hear from you. Trying to be more thoughtful about what I wear instead of guessing. Thanks for any ideas or practical advice!
